I was going through some old boxes and found this. Thought it might be worth sharing. This is a painting I did for a 2d design class in Atlanta a few years ago. It was a final project and we had to use every element of design we learned that semester in the painting. To be honest, I don't remember any of them. I do remember that the image is a self portrait expressing the effects of major depression. I think the skulls represent raining despair. There's a pool of darkness with serpents slithering out of it, to show how depression can grow from within and reach out to others (I think serpents represent evil in Christianity). There are probably some other subliminal messages in the image but I can't remember them all. My teacher really liked this picture.
